About Us

In the late 60's a retired railroad worker and a beautician decided to settle in Marengo with their 3 young children and open a bar. The Grant Ranch was born. Duane and Mary Grant ran the west side Grant Ranch for a few years before moving the bar to the south side of Marengo Square opening the 2nd Grant Ranch. In the 80's they moved to Keswick and opened the 3rd Grant Ranch. After a number of years they retired from the bar business and the name has set unused for many years. In 2003, their only daughter, Sherry Fisher, continued the family bar and restaurant tradition by restoring a falling building on the Sigourney Square and opening a restaurant & lounge. After many years, she also left the business. Now Duane and Mary's first-born grandchild, Danette Meyer, is starting the tradition again with the Grant Ranch name. Grant Ranch Grub & Pub has been an extensive remodel of a business on the east side of the Sigourney Square. With the help from family including her mom, Uncle Scott and Aunt Sally Grant, her brother Deric Bazyn, Danette and family are ready to bring the Grant Ranch back to life. There will be good food and fun times ahead as the tradition continues!

The food and the service were excellent. The burger, the cheesesteak, and the tenderloin sandwiches were particular favorites. The salads were also good. Stopped by for quick lunch during Iowa road trip. Extremely impressed with atmophere and friendly service. Our server accommodated a couple of special requests with a smile and our food was great (tenderloin special & fish wrap - special request). Bathrooms clean and large and next time will sit at the bar with fun river rock filled center. Locally owned and fun decor. Highly recommend.
